I looked almost everywhere to try to find the mail order secrets that the industry pros use. I bought all the books on making money by mailing letters that I could find. Nothing worked. I started to believe that my goal of making a living in it was just a mere fantasy. I almost threw in the towel.

Then, one day, I received an invitation in the mail. It was for a mail order seminar. At $700, the cost was steep, but I was desperate to jump-start my dream. So, I thought it over very carefully. I wasn't ready to give up just yet.

Not only did they want a $700 registration fee, but I would have to fly to Chicago where it was being held. The airfare would set me back another $400, not to mention $100 a night for my hotel room.

I decided to take a risk and just go for it. I charged over $1,000 on my credit card. On the flight, I told myself that if this seminar didn't turn things around for me, maybe I should just "face reality." But you can't blame me for not wanting to ...

So I pressed on.

As my flight landed in Chicago's O'Hare Airport, I did everything I could to get my confidence up. I decided that I would really put myself into this seminar big time. I wasn't just going to go to class to sit there and day dream.

I knew that a lot of people were making really good money by mailing letters, so if I wasn't, I must be missing out on some knowledge that they had. What's more, I had no idea about how to write a good letter. I didn't consider myself a good writer. That was a major stumbling block for me.
